Christmas Pictures for Waterstone’s Book Shop St Albans

Waterstones book shop in St Peter’s Street have asked if Camp children would like to provide pictures for their Christmas display. The shop will be adding a notice saying that the art comes from Camp School and they will be on display in the children’s book section and in the window.

Reception are doing them as a class topic, but if anyone else’s children would like to provide a picture, illustrated poem, story, piece of artwork, etc that can be stuck on a wall that would be lovely. The theme is Christmas and the brighter and more colourful the better. Also if you could print your child’s first name (for safety reasons, no surnames please) on the front that would be useful.

Tess, mum to Nellie in Y1, is planning on delivering them to the shop next week so if you could hand them to her in the playground by next Wednesday (30th), that would be great.

This a really lovely advert for the school and the more pictures we can get, the better (…the shop has promised to display every single one!).

wine)

Bring along family and friends. This is a great opportunity to
purchase high street names and bargain prices. Many items are in the region of
£15. There will be separate changing areas so you can try on items before
purchasing.

Xmas Fair Wrapping Evening – this Mon, 21st Nov @ 7.30pm

We’re holding a wrapping evening this coming Monday, 21st Nov, from 7.30-9pm at the school to get ready for the Xmas Fair. We’ll have the kettle on and the biscuits out, so if you can spare some time to help us wrap presents and sort stock for the fair that would be tremendous. No previous experience necessary!

Craft Morning: Friday 11th Nov

We’re planning a craft morning this Friday, 11th Nov from 9.00 to 11.00 am ish.

This will take place in the dining room and we will be making decorations for the Christmas fair.
If you have any old xmas decorations/glitter/sparkly things etc that we could ‘recycle’,
please do bring them along (or drop them in to the office beforehand).

We’ll be working along the ‘giant cracker’ theme so if you have anything suitable that would be great!

Hope to see you there – we’ll have the kettle on and the biscuits out, with toys to entertain little people.

We’ll be there from 9am-11ish, so if you have Family Reading come and join us afterwards!

Apologies for the short notice but this evenings Xmas Fair planning meeting has been cancelled. We will, however, be holding another meeting on Friday morning, starting at
9.30am in the dining room, to allow Yr 1 & 2 parents to come along after Family Reading has finished.
Fri 14th Oct @ 9.30am – Dining Hall

Camp School Parents’ Association AGM: Monday 26th September 2011

Just a quick reminder that the Camp School Parents’ Association AGM is on Monday 26th September @ 7.30pm in the Dining Room

Please come along to the AGM and help us to decide how to spend the money that we have made this year.

It’s your PA so we would love to hear your views.

We’ll also take you through the accounts for the year and some of the key dates for 2011/12.

If you can’t make it but would like to add a point to the agenda please grab one of us in the playground over the next couple of weeks or leave us a message via the school office.

Volunteers needed to run Ice Cream Fridays!

The current team of Mums have been doing a fab job of running Ice cream Fridays for the last 6 years (thank you so much ladies), so we’re looking for volunteers to take this over from September.

It’s a very simple concept and involves very little work – selling ice creams and lollies in the playground at the end of school every Friday (weather permitting) from Easter to October half term. The money raised pays for the Yearbooks that each child receives at the end of the school year so it’s something that everyone benefits from.

It would be lovely to see some newer faces helping out with this (and other PA events!) so please feel free to get together a group of people for a rota (or we can add your name to a rota). However, if we don’t get any volunteers we won’t be able to run this anymore, which will mean no ice creams and no Yearbooks. You have been warned!
